Business scandals are a thing that happen sometimes. Hewlett-Packard is a computer software company. They got in trouble in 2006 when CNET news published an investigation. Apparently HP had been using "lies, fraud and deception" to acquire personal information.

Another scandal happened to the company BP. On April 20, 2010 there was a huge oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. It hurt the environment a lot because usually there isn't tons upon tons of oil in the Gulf of Mexico.

U.S. Department of Commerce! Who knew?

The U.S. Department of Commerce website has many good links to click on. It is interesting because it is about business, like this class. For instance, I learned it is National Hispanic Heritage week. Who knew? I also learned that the U.S. has the second highest Hispanic population in the world. Who know? How fascinating! I could spend days on this website. Maybe I will!

Hello, my name is Stephen West and I'll be bloggin' on this blog for my into to business class. My interests include biking, hiking and long romantic walks on the beach. My favorite film is Pootie Tang and the main character, Pootie, is a personal hero of mine. I like Pootie because reflects the values our society needs, teaching kids not to eat unhealthy food, drink or smoke and fighting big, evil corporations.
